Medical Marijuana

Effective as of February 2022:

Sun Health & Dental is happy to announce a new and valuable medical service for its members. This service is only available to members that live in the Miami Dade, Broward, and West Palm Beach areas. Sun Health & Dental will be providing its members access to Medical Marijuana Centers approved by the Florida Department of Health. 

Sun Health members wanting to get a medical marijuana card need to schedule an appointment with our customer service department. The members will pay $130 for the office consultation at the provider’s office. This service cost to non-members is $200 for the initial office visit and certification.

Medical Marijuana therapy is an approved alternative for persons that are seeking a more natural path to treat certain health conditions. Under Florida Law persons wanting to get approved for use of medical marijuana will need to visit a licensed facility and be evaluated by a licensed medical physician who is certified by the Florida Department of Health. Medical Marijuana therapy is safe and effective, according to your age and condition patients can elect to purchase strains of marijuana that have been engineered to provide effective results with little or no psychotropic effect

Who can get a Medical Marijuana Card?

Qualifying medical conditions for a medical card under the Florida state law that are eligible for a medical recommendation in Florida are listed below. Our doctors will assess your medical condition during your card evaluation and, if your conditions fall under the qualifying conditions in the state of Florida, they will recommend you a medicinal card to obtain and consume medical products. Steps for getting a medical marijuana card 

First, if you have one of the above listed conditions schedule a consultation with our provider.

Next, the member needs to go online and create an account on the Florida Medical Marijuana website and pay a non-refundable fee to process their application. The cost to register is $75.00 and will be paid directly on the Florida Medical Marijuana website. 

The member should have their account set up on the Florida Medical Marijuana site before visiting the Medical Provider so once the member completes their office visit they can be provided a prescription that is added to the member’s profile on the Florida Medical Marijuana website.
