Changes to Telemedicine

Beginning on March 1 2021 the telemedicine benefit for all new enrollments will change. Sun Health & Dental has contracted with a new company to provide Sun Health and Dental members telemedicine services, the new provider will improve access and availability of physicians, specialists and also provide access to mental health and dental providers. Members will be able to access these services on the same day they enroll, something that they are not able to do with our old telemedicine provider.

Our existing provider does not support same-day access to telemedicine services. This new service will not affect any member that is currently active in the plan; existing members will still have access to telemedicine at no cost. Only new memberships will have to select the level of benefit they wish to access.

The registration page will have a new section so that Sales Agents or members can select the level of coverage they wish to select.

Basic Telemedicine Plan
This would be included with all memberships without additional cost to the member

Benefit
$30 per session limit of 2 consultations per month.
Each additional consultation would cost $40.00

Telemedicine Plus Plan
Member would pay the following additional monthly fees for this upgraded plan
$4.99 Single
$7.99 Couples
$12.99 Family

$10.00 per session limit of 3 consultations Per Member Per Month
$20.00 per consultations for additional consultation

Telemedicine Preferred Plan
Member would pay the following additional monthly fees for this upgraded plan

Digital Member Handbook

Effective December 7, 2020 all new members will receive a digital version of the member handbook. It is very important that our staff and Sales Agents explain to all new members what they are to receive in order to avoid confusion and issues with all new enrollments. Please remember that the member will still receive via USPS physical membership cards for each covered member this has not changed only the member handbook will be provided in digital format. This change will help keep information provided to the member consistent with the growth of our services and areas we expect to start providing services in. You can send the member handbook via SMS message from our system by selecting the member then clicking on the communications tab, then clicking on send SMS message in the upper right corner of the page. You will then select the preset message “Member Handbook” and the system will send the member a link to the number listed on their profile in our system. Please note that the system will send this link automatically once the member has paid, completed the QC and has signed the authorization form. You will only be able to send “ACTIVE” members the handbook.
